We were so blessed recently to be able to spend a few days relaxing and catching up with some old friends from Minnesota who recently moved to Tennessee. We parked our RV in their backyard and lived half in their house, half in our home-on-wheels. We had so much fun reconnecting with the dear Barnes family and our time with them passed very quickly with lots of laughter, reminiscing, and delightful conversations.
My food-loving siblings were super excited to have access to a real kitchen for the first time in eight months and took full advantage of it, making several amazing meals we've missed that aren't RV-friendly. Chicken-fried-chicken, tater-tot hotdish, taco salad... we ate wonderfully while hanging out with these awesome people.
On Thursday night, we settled in for a long, deep conversation about end-times, debating the various tribulation views, origins of UFOs/aliens, and many other random theological topics we bunny-trailed into. While we were unable to solve the problems of the world in this single evening, it was a wonderful couple of hours that will not soon be forgotten.
The little boys really enjoyed hanging out and playing with Joel...numerous games of chess and checkers, catapult building, park visits, and more. He was very patient with their endless energy and non-stop conversation.
Random sidenote: for those of you who remember back in November when we lost my little fur-baby Rosie unexpectedly to Parvo and later brought home our dear Lucy Loo...here she is the week we spent with the Barnes. She loved running around their fenced-in yard, but also hitched rides around on Dominic - apparently, she's under the impression that she's still a little 20lb puppy instead of a 55lb goofball.
All in all, it was a fun and relaxing couple days of fellowship in Tennessee, but it was time to head into a Nashville suburb where we had tickets to attend a TV recording session of the Mike Huckabee show. Stay tuned for that post coming up next as I slowly begin catching up on what's been happening around here. :)
Until next time, God bless!
Looks like you guys had a great time!
