10 years ago, we spent a week in Branson, celebrating both Randall and my birthdays...my special night was spent enjoying the Dolly Stampede (then known as Dixie Stampede tho) dinner show. It was an impressive performance, so we were excited to revisit this tourist destination...this time in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.
Maleah and Dominic engaged in a game of tabletop checkers while waiting for the preshow to begin. Don't ask who won, cuz I don't remember, LOL:)
The preshow was a skilled bluegrass trio playing some classic bluegrass and country music to get the audience into the 'mood' for a good ol' down-home competition later in the arena.
Dolly Stampede is the first dinner theater performance that the little boys have been to, so they had a lot of fun:) The food was absolutely delicious and our server was incredibly patient with our large group.
The show itself was pretty cool, although it didn't live up to my memories from when we watched the Branson branch show in 2013. There were many friendly competitions (some of which were rigged to keep the score even until the end, LOL). When you purchase tickets, you are assigned to either the North or the South...we were Northerners and ultimately, we won the night. Pig races, barrel races, bucket relays, and numerous horsemanship demonstrations captivated the audience throughout the evening.
The night's final event was a lovely uniting of the two teams to honor the flag and our country.
Ultimately, whether the show and dinner were worth the price is debatable, but it was an enjoyable one-time evening event.
Until next time, God bless
