When driving through North Dakota, we were stunned to see miles upon miles of sunflower fields alongside the highway. Apparently, North Dakota is known for being one of the main producers of sunflowers, even ranking #1 last year. (Yet, somehow, Kansas managed to earn the nickname Sunflower State...not sure how that happened.)
Eventually, we were able to find a place to pull off the highway and alongside a field. We might(?) have trespassed just a little in order to take some pictures. Oops :)
What a wonderful place to stretch and spend a few minutes in the beautiful weather after a long day of driving!
Until next time, God Bless

The sunflower fields are amazing. It was one of our favorites to see on the way to Theodore Roosevelt National Park.
