God's Sense of Humor and an Exciting Announcement!

So...

I've always considered myself (and still do) a fiction writer more than a poet. I only write poetry when I feel really (and I mean really) inspired. Typically, I just put away the end result and forget about it. More recently however, a spur-of-the-moment decision led me to submit a few poems to an anthology publishing opportunity that popped into my email inbox. I clicked submit and promptly put it out of my mind, never dreaming I would actually see any of my poetic attempts published.

Short stories or novels - maybe someday.

Poetry - haha, yeah right! I mean, I don't even like reading poetry.

But God has a sense of humor, and so here I am to make a big announcement. I've actually been keeping a secret for a couple of weeks, but it's time to let the cat out of the bag. Skillful Pen Press, an independent publishing company that seeks to glorify God in all that they do, is releasing a new book on October 7, 2024. Featuring the work of 21 different authors, this anthology is centered around themes of love, struggles, and faith in Jesus. I'm honored to have been accepted as one of those authors, with five of my poems being accepted for this anthology.

Now you're probably asking what the name of this masterpiece will be. I'm glad you asked. Today is the official 'Title Reveal' day! So, without further ado, may I present...

Unfortunately, as lovely as the above image is, it is not the cover for the book. The official book cover will be released on September 2, at which point I'm sure you'll hear from me again :)
