What's Next?
When people learn that I've graduated high school and have already earned my Associate's and Bachelor's degrees, they inevitably ask me what's next...what are my plans for the future? To which I inevitably respond: "I don't really know." At the moment, I don't have a strong vision of what I want to do in life other than serve God in whatever way He wants me to. If I take my passions into consideration, I suspect writing, music, and children will play an integral part of my future, but in what way is yet to be seen. My life right now is a lesson in trusting God with my future.
My In-Progress Projects
Redemption: A Story of Forgiveness
This two-act screen-play follows the unexpected reunion of a bitter and isolated woman with her long-lost father, and the healing that must occur in order for her to actually accept him back into her life. Little do they know that Dirk, Rosalyn's devoted German Shepherd, will play a major role in demonstrating her need for God.
Requires cast size of at least fourteen actors of varying ages. Scenes 1-5 are completed along with the prologue, while scenes 7-9, plus the epilogue, are outlined.
Ryline's Greater Battle
This novelette follows the struggles and heartaches of a newly-promoted sergeant about to be deployed to Israel as part of an unexpected mission to oust Iraqi soldiers from the Jewish nation once and for all. Can Ryline learn to trust God as she prepares to leave behind her beloved family, and the love of her life to whom she just got engaged? Who exactly is Sergeant Kolbe Johnson and why is he in touch with Ryline's superiors about her deployment?
Rough draft of this novel is almost completed, but since I didn't plan out my plotline ahead of time I'm stuck on how to end the story right now :)
A Journey of Scars
Jazzalyn's journey through life has been tough and she had to face more challenges than your average 16-year-old. After being dealt countless blows by a God who supposedly loves her, she's ready to take control of her life... but is that really what's best for her? Can she truly heal from trauma on her own? Will she ever realize that apart from Christ, there is no peace or joy?
The rough draft is about 2/3 done!
